How the Age Five Family Office™ works
We start with your values, not a tax or investment strategy. From there, one team handles everything — and every major decision is written down for your family.
We start with what matters most.
Wealth preservation is an education problem. Most families pass down money without the thinking behind it. That’s why we document your decisions, so your children can learn from them.

We'll make sure your wealth plan adapts to your life.
Bright Advisers lets you focus on your family while your advisor takes care of the planning. Our quarterly focus map shows the key conversations your advisor will walk through with you across the year.
Most families wait too long.
The tax bill surprises them. The kids ask questions nobody prepared them to answer. By the time they look for help, years of compounding decisions have gone undocumented. The families who start early build something their children can actually learn from.
Unbiased, human-centered advice.
Most traditional firms only get paid when you move your investments to their firm, which results in a conflict of interest. We believe the best way to deliver unbiased advice is to charge separate fees — one for planning and one for wealth management.

We custom-build your portfolio using our liability-driven methodology.
We know that every client’s vision for how they want to live is unique. Therefore, every client’s ability to take risks (optimal risk loading) and investment portfolio should be unique.
Bright Advisers uses your unique cash flow needs (liabilities) to build you a personalized investment portfolio that is designed to help you achieve your wealth plan.
As you update your wealth plan or as unexpected life events happen, your investment strategy is dynamically adjusted to align with your wealth plan.
What families want to know.
What makes the Age Five Family Office different?
We coordinate your family wealth — tax, investment, education, retirement, estate, governance, philanthropy, and business planning — through one team. Every major decision is documented in your FamilyKnowledge® Library so your children can read how you thought about money when they turn 18. That’s something you won’t find at a traditional advisory firm.
Do I need $50 million to work with you?
No. Traditional family offices require $50 million or more. We built the Age Five Family Office to bring that same level of coordination to high-income W-2 families with young children, starting at $1,000 per month.
What is the FamilyKnowledge® Library?
It’s a written record of your family’s most important financial decisions — why you made them, what values guided them, and what you’d want your children to understand. The library grows as your family makes decisions, and compounds over time into the judgment your children inherit.
What happens to my FamilyKnowledge® Library if I leave?
It’s yours. You can export your full library at any time. We’ll never hold your family’s story hostage. The real question is: who will keep building it with you over the next 10 to 15 years? Our whole model is built around capturing your decisions, updating them as life changes, and making sure your kids can actually read the story at 18.
Do I need to move my investments to work with you?
No. Our planning fee is separate from wealth management. You can work with us on planning alone, or we can manage your portfolio as well. Many families choose both because it allows us to coordinate tax and investment decisions together.
How is this different from hiring a CPA and a financial planner separately?
When your CPA and your planner don’t talk to each other, decisions fall through the cracks. We put advisors, CPAs, and specialists on one team so your tax strategy, investment plan, and estate plan are coordinated — and the key decisions from each one are captured in your FamilyKnowledge® Library. One team coordinates it all. One team sees the full picture, so important tax and estate details don’t get scattered across emails and portals.
What does Age-Five Wealth Education mean?
Cambridge research shows children form their core money habits by age seven. At age five, they’re already watching how you handle decisions. Age Five Wealth Education is our process for documenting your family’s financial thinking so your children grow up with the knowledge — not just the money.
How much does it cost?
Our Family tier is $1,000 per month. That includes tax planning and filing, investment planning, quarterly stewardship meetings, Age Five Wealth Education, and ongoing FamilyKnowledge® Library documentation. Wealth management is a separate fee of 0.80% on invested assets. No commissions, no hidden fees, no platform costs.
How much of our time will this take?
The first eight weeks typically take about five to seven hours total across meetings and reviewing materials. After that, we meet four times a year. Our team handles the coordination, the tax work, and the documentation between meetings. Your job is to show up and make decisions.
